The Imaginary Friend of Faithful Muslims (Or Captor?)

Child with Imaginary Friend, From Psych2Go

As the oldest sibling there were a few years in my early childhood that I had nobody to play with. So I would run from one end of my parents’ apartment to the next fighting with my imaginary friends.  Boy was I good at martial arts… in my own imagination of course.

We would play power Rangers. I would even lose the battle sometimes and “die.” This is all on home video footage and it’s a very cute memory. It certainly influences my imagination for the rest of my life and even today.

I was 2-5 years old. Click to continue reading!

New Site, New Brand, New Goals

Welcome to The Secular Brownie.

Why I Switched from ExMuslimRants

I began writing in my other site Ex-Muslim Rants as a way to openly critique daily Muslim life I would observe in my family and society.  However, as I met more secular bloggers, ex-Muslims etc. my horizons on critiquing the role of religion in society expanded.  I realized that a blog title called “ExMuslim Rants” would confine me to merely critiquing the Islamic lifestyle and faith.  Through this new site, I seek to expand my options.

I have copied and pasted all the articles from the previous site to this site.

Goals of The Secular Brownie

In The Secular Brownie, we will examine:

  • The effects of religion and dogma on society
  • Mainstream politics and problematic popular misconceptions of contemporary events.
  • Personal observations from my daily life regarding the effects of religiosity/faith.
  • And more

I am very excited about some of the posts to come.
